How We Can Help

Evidence-Based Therapy That Gets to the Root Life doesn't stop when you're struggling — and neither should your care.

At Momentum, we take a goal-focused, whole-person approach to therapy. That means we don't just talk about how you're feeling; we work with you to understand what's keeping you stuck and build practical skills to move forward. Our two primary treatment approaches — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — are among the most thoroughly researched methods in modern psychology. CBT helps you identify and shift the thought patterns and behaviors that fuel anxiety, poor sleep, or low mood. ACT helps you build psychological flexibility so that pain, stress, or difficult emotions no longer have to control your daily life. Together, these approaches are effective for a wide range of concerns, including chronic insomnia, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and major health adjustments. Every treatment plan at Momentum is individualized. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Whether you're dealing with a new diagnosis, a life transition, or something you've been carrying for years, Dr. Streitwieser works with you to set meaningful goals and measure real progress.

Dr. Tim Streitwieser — Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Streitwieser brings a rare combination of clinical depth and real-world experience to every session. He has served as Deputy Chief of Mental Health at a major medical center and as Director of an Integrated Pain Clinic — giving him expertise in the complex relationship between physical health and mental wellbeing that few therapists possess. Trained at Spalding University (PsyD) and through an APA-accredited VA internship, Dr. Streitwieser has spent over 17 years helping adults manage conditions that other providers often struggle to treat: chronic insomnia, persistent pain, adjustment to serious illness, and the anxiety and depression that so often accompany them. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the graduate and undergraduate level for more than 14 years. His approach is direct, evidence-based, and deeply human. You'll leave each session with something concrete — a technique, a shift in perspective, or a clear next step.
